Making finding on the appealed substantial abatement ordered for 1023 JESSIE STREET in Council File RLH RR 21-25.  (Amend to grant 180 days)

WHEREAS, the City Council adopted RLH RR 21-25 on June 16, 2021 which granted an additional 180 days to repair the structure, correct all of the deficiencies listed in the Order to Abate Nuisance Building and the Code Compliance Report at 1023 Jessie Street; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer reviewed this case on December 14, 2021 and January 11, 2022 to determine if the owner and/or responsible party abated the nuisance conditions and found these conditions were unabated and recommended that owner post an additional $5,000 performance deposit and provide updated financing; and

 

WHEREAS, the two conditions were submitted and approved on January 18, 2022; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that at the conclusion of the 180-day grant of time, the Council will receive a report from the Legislative Hearing Officer with findings on the status of the nuisance abatement; And Be It Further

 

RESOLVED, that a Legislative Hearing is scheduled for July 26, 2022 at which owners, interested parties and Department of Safety and Inspection staff will present information on the current building conditions and progress toward abatement of the dangerous/nuisance conditions and the resulting findings will be presented to the City Council at a public hearing on August 3, 2022 for its consideration; And, Be It Further

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council adopts the finding of the legislative hearing officer that the nuisance condition is forthcoming not abated but will grant an additional 180 days to complete the nuisance abatement.
