Second Making finding on the appealed substantial abatement ordered for 594 BRUNSON AVENUE in Council File RLH RR 24-31. (Amend to grant additional 5 months and forfeit $2,500 of $10,000)

WHEREAS, the City Council adopted RLH RR 24-31 on September 24, 2024 which granted 180 days to repair the structure, correct all of the deficiencies listed in the Order to Abate Nuisance Building and the Code Compliance Report at 594 Brunson Avenue; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer reviewed this case on March 25 and April 1, 2025 to determine if the owner and/or responsible party abated the nuisance conditions and found these conditions were not abated; however, updated work plan including schedule and financing were provided and approved; therefore, will grant an additional 90 days for rehabilitation of the building, and forfeit $5,000 $2,500 of the $10,000 performance deposit as there has been only 5% progress on the Code Compliance Inspection report, noting the completed work wass exterior and landscaping and not on the compliance report ; and

 

WHEREAS, revised plans, bids and financing were found acceptable by the Legislative Hearing Officer and a 5-month extension to September 15, 2025 is recommended, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council adopts the finding of the legislative hearing officer that the nuisance condition is not abated and plans and financing submitted are sufficient to grant an extension to September 15, 2025; and be it finally

 

RESOLVED,that the Saint Paul City Council authorizes the Department of Safety and Inspections to proceed with this substantial abatement forfeits $2,500 of the $10,000 performance deposit and grants an additional 5 months, to complete the nuisance abatement at this property.
