Stated Reason for Appeal (if given): Amount listed as due does not match what is due - includes fees Republic Waste has waived and does not include credits they have said are on one of the two accounts that were created for the single service address.

Staff Comments: This property is listed as a three-family dwelling in Ramsey County property tax records. According to information provided by Republic Services, the property owner was charged for 3 total carts: 2 35-gallon Small Every Other Week carts and 1 96-gallon Large cart. Republic Services did not provide the property owner with any credits on the Quarter 4 2018 bill. The property owner is responsible for the bill, as garbage service was provided for 2 35-gallon Small Every Other Week carts and 1 96-gallon Large cart from October through December 2018.

 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services Real Estate Section has attached to this Council File both a report of completion outlining the costs and fees associated with Collection of Delinquent Garbage Bills for services during October to December 2018. (File No. CG1901E1, Assessment No. 190067) and the assessment roll including all properties for which these assessments are proposed for Council ratification; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council’s Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed an appeal of this assessment and developed a recommendation for the City Council with respect to this assessment; and

 

WHEREAS, a public hearing having been conducted for the above improvement, and said assessment having been further considered by the Council and having been considered financially satisfactory; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that pursuant to Chapter 14 of the Saint Paul City Charter, said assessment is hereby ratified and payable in one installment.
