Appeal of Linda Johnson to a Vacant Building Registration Notice and Summary Abatement Order at 1069 RYDE STREET.

 

Date/Time of 1st LH:  Tuesday, September 13, 2016, 2:30 p.m.

Purpose of Appeal:  Work complete, home was not vacant when inspected.  Work is complete.  Home is fit for occupancy.

Date of Order(s) Under Appeal:  September 1, 2016, and August 31, 2016 respectively

Inspector/Key Staff:  Mike Kalis

Legislative Hearing Staff Comments:  Appellant said she has worked hard on the Summary Abatement Order, but staff included the order with this appeal because the appellant said #2 was subjective.

 

Body

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Linda Johnson to a Vacant Building Registration Notice and Summary Abatement Order at 1069 RYDE STREET, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant;

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council waive the vacant building fee for 90 days and allow permits to be pulled.  A plumbing permit is required for the hand sink, toilet and tub issues.  Once the permit is signed off, vacant building status will be closed and owners may occupy the home and work with Inspector Lisa Martin to make repairs to other violations; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
