Purpose of Appeal
We are appealing 2 bedroom windows that will not comly w/St. Paul egress policy.  Height on both double hungs will be shorter than minimum required.  Openable width and overall glazed criteria is met.  Homeowner does not want to change operating style.  Please approve.

Yes, 7.5 inches in egress opening height and 6 inches in egress opening height.  No hearing necessary.

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Renewal by Andersen, on behalf of Connie Smith, to two Egress Window Non-Compliance Determinations at 176 OTIS AVENUE, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and
 
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council grant a 7.5-inch variance on the openable height of one double-hung replacement egress bedroom window measuring 16-7/8 inches high by 24 inches wide, and grant a 6-inch variance on the openable height of one double-hung replacement egress bedroom window measuring 18 inches high by 24 inches wide; Now, Therefore, Be It
 
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
