Purpose of Appeal
#8 on list - Egress/escape window is approximately 1" smaller than the regulation.  The windows are less than 20 years old, and are replacement windows fitted into the structure (the home was constructed in 1929).  The windows are quick release and could easily be completely removed to allow escape.  I request that these windows be allowed.  Additionally, I request an extension of the time in which the work needs to be completed as some of it is extensive and contractors need to be hired.  I request Novermber 1, 2011 as completion date.

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Julie Meyer to a Fire Certificate of Occupancy Correction Notice at 1304 JULIET AVENUE the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; And
 
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council grant a 3.5-inch variance on the openable height of the egress window in the second floor east bedroom and a 2.5-inch variance on the openable height of the egress window in the second floor west bedroom; Now, Therefore, Be It
 
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
