Title

Ratifying the assessment for Excessive Use of Inspection or Abatement services billed during December 27, 2023 to January 19, 2024. (File No. J2410E, Assessment No. 248316)

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council in Council File RES 24-766 accepted the Report of Excessive Use of Inspection Service for the Property Code Violations billed during the time period of December 27, 2023 to January 19, 2024; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council’s Legislative Hearing Officer has considered objections of affected property owners and developed recommendations for the City Council with respect to their assessments; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on August 14, 2024 to consider ratification of the assessment roll; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council considered and found satisfactory the assessment of benefits, costs and expenses for the services provided; and

 

WHEREAS, the assessment amount for each property will be payable in a term of 1 year, with the property taxes in 2025; unless specified by the Legislative Hearing Officer’s recommended amendments which are considered separately:

 

RLH TA 24-298:  819 Aurora Avenue;

RLH TA 24-304:  342 Bates Avenue;

RLH TA 24-310:  1254 Charles Avenue;

RLH TA 24-306:  284 Maple Street; and

 

WHEREAS, the assessments will bear an interest rate of 5.65 percent per annum from the date of the adoption of this resolution; and

 

RESOLVED, that, pursuant to Chapter 429 of Minnesota State Statues and Chapter 60 of the Saint Pail Administrative Code, the assessment is hereby in all respects ratified, except for those assessments considered separately through Legislative Hearing.
