Stated Reason for Appeal (if given): The hauler, WM, contacted the City, stating, the city needs to pull the 3rd Qtr 2023 assessment amount of $119.89 ... off the tax rolls for Parcel #202922430075. This is a duplex and WM had two separate accounts for this property. At one time it was considered single family and then went to a duplex. Previous owner didn’t realize until now that he still had one account that was never canceled back in May 2023

Staff Comments: Due to request from the hauler, solid waste staff recommend full removal of the assessment.

WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services Assessment Section has attached to this Council File both a report of completion outlining the costs and fees associated with Collection of Delinquent Garbage Bills for services during July to September 2023. (File No. CG2304A1, Assessment No. 230114) and the assessment roll including all properties for which these assessments are proposed for Council ratification; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council’s Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed an appeal of this assessment and developed a recommendation for the City Council with respect to this assessment; and

 

WHEREAS, a public hearing having been conducted for the above improvement, and said assessment having been further considered by the Council and having been considered financially satisfactory; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that pursuant to Chapter 14 of the Saint Paul City Charter, said assessment is hereby deleted.
