Returned Mail/Notice Concerns?:
Stated Reason for Appeal (if given): The property owner says their quarterly bill is usually only around $69. However, they received an Invoice and Final Notice from the City stating that they owed $218.28 for Q2 2022. When she called Republic, they said there was an "adjustment" but could not give her a straight answer as to why that quarter's bill is so high.
Staff Comments: Hauler records show that the original invoice of $189.81 consisted of the service fee of $69.81 plus the yard waste annual fee of $120.00. There was also a total of $28.47 added in late fees which brought the total to $218.28. However, since the resident did not receive proper notice regarding the late fees, staff recommends removing the late fee of $28.47 and reducing the assessment to $189.81.
