Appeal of William McLaughlin, BME Incorporated, to a Summary Abatement Order at 1550 RICE STREET.

 

Date/Time of 1st LH:  Tuesday, May 5, 2020, 11:00 a.m.

Purpose of Appeal:  Cited for trash on property caused by apartment building across street.  This has been an ongoing problem for many years due to open dumpster.  And still yet to be resolved.

Date of Order(s) Under Appeal:  April 20, 2020

Inspector/Key Staff:  Willie Williams

Legislative Hearing Staff Comments:  Appellant said that he is hard of hearing and would like staff to increase their volume during this hearing.  Appellant said that people have already cleaned up this area.  Staff told him that if the issue has been taken care of, there is no reason to appeal.  Appellant responded that he would still like to appeal because this is an ongoing problem and needs to be resolved.

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Williams McLaughlin, BME Incorporated, to a Summary Abatement Order at 1550 RICE STREET, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant;

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council    [recommendation]; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
