Title

Accepting grants of $25,000 from the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, $165,000 from the McKnight Foundation, $100,000 from the Family Housing Fund, and $300,000 from the Pohlad Foundation; authorizing the execution of grant agreements; and amending the 2020 HRA budget, Citywide

Body

WHEREAS, to fully implement the Families First Housing Pilot (“Program”) HRA staff requested and were subsequently awarded $25,000 from the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, $165,000 from the McKnight Foundation, $100,000 from the Family Housing Fund, and $300,000 from the Pohlad Foundation (collectively the “Grants”); and

 

WHEREAS, agreements between the HRA and awarding entities are necessary for receipt of the Grants (the “Grant Agreements”); and

 

WHEREAS, at least one Grant Agreement contains provision wherein the HRA, as grantee, agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the grantor; and  

 

WHEREAS, by this Resolution the HRA Board of Commissioners accepts receipt of the Grants, amends the 2020 HRA Budget, authorizes execution of the Grant Agreement, and continues to find a public purpose for the expenditure of public funds for the Program.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the HRA Board of Commissioners, as follows:

 

1.                     The HRA Board of Commissioners hereby accepts receipt of the Grants.

 

2.                     The HRA Board of Commissioners hereby amends the 2020 HRA Budget as detailed in the attached Financial Analysis.

 

3.                     The HRA Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the HRA Executive Director, staff and legal counsel for the HRA to take all actions necessary to implement this Resolution and authorizes the appropriate HRA officials to execute the Grant Agreements and any other documents and instruments in connection with this Resolution.
