Appeal of Jon Taylor to a Fire Certificate of Occupancy Deficiency List, including Condemnation, at 1333 RANDOLPH AVENUE

 

Date/Time of 1st LH:  November 5, 2019; 1:30 p.m.

Purpose of Appeal:  Item 1 on the deficiency list condemned one of the sleeping rooms as "unsafe and dangerous" in this apartment. The apartment was originally a three bedroom until about 10 years ago when the city condemned the middle bedroom as unsafe. It passed the certificate of occupancy usint two of the three rooms as sleeping areas for the past 10 years. This year another one of the bedrooms is being condemned and it is now only passing as having one safe sleeping room.

WHEREAS, in the matter of Appeal of Jon Taylor to a Fire Certificate of Occupancy Deficiency List, including Condemnation, at 1333 RANDOLPH AVENUE, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council deny the appeal and grant an extension to May 1, 2020 for compliance; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
