Authorizing Acceptance of Switchboard Funds
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Public Library Agency was asked to submit a field project proposal for a project called Civic Switchboard led by the University of Pittsburgh and supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services; and
WHEREAS, the project will require that the Saint Paul Public Library and Office Communications and Technology collaborate to connect the community with the Open Information Portal; and
WHEREAS, the Institute of Museum and Library Services has offered to award the library $3000 for the costs associated with implementing a project called "Sunshine Saint Paul: Shining Light on Your Civic Data"; and
WHEREAS, implementation of this project will further the goal of increasing cooperation between the Office of Technology and Communications and the Library to engage the public with civic data;
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation total revenues in excess of those estimated in the budget, funds of $3,000 in the Saint Paul Public Library Special Fund; now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor that $3,000 is available for appropriation in the Saint Paul Public Library Special Fund, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, be hereby further amended in the particulars as specified in the attached financial analysis.
