Approving adverse action against the Auto Repair Garage, Motor Vehicle Dealer-New Vehicles, Second Hand Dealer-Motor Vehicle and Auto Body Repair/Painting Shop licenses held by Twin Cities Wrecker Sales, Inc. d/b/a Twin Cities Salvage Pool located at 1301 Jackson Street in Saint Paul.

Body

WHEREAS, the Auto Repair Garage, Motor Vehicle Dealer-New Vehicles, Second Hand Dealer-Motor Vehicle and Auto Body Repair/Painting Shop licenses held by Twin Cities Wrecker Sales, Inc. d/b/a Twin Cities Salvage Pool (License ID #0050543) for the premises located at 1301 Jackson Street in Saint Paul were the subject of a Notice of Intent to Suspend Licenses dated June 27, 2018; and

WHEREAS, the licensee failed to submit a completed Certificate of Compliance Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Law form along with their license fee payments that were received on April 9, 2018; and

WHEREAS, the licensee was sent a letter from Department of Safety and Inspections (DSI) on May 8, 2018 requesting that he submit the Certificate of Compliance Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Law form no later than May 22, 2018; and

WHEREAS, the licensee did not respond to the May 8, 2018 letter and submit the required form by the May 22, 2018 deadline; and

WHEREAS, per Saint Paul Legislative Code §310.05 (m) (2), the licensing office recommended suspension of the licenses and imposition of a $500.00 matrix penalty for failure to submit required information to maintain the license; and  

WHEREAS, the licensee did not respond to the Notice of Intent to Suspend Licenses to submit the required information, request a public hearing or cancel the license; and

WHEREAS, the Notice of Intent to Suspend Licenses stated that if the licensee failed to submit the required information, request a public hearing or cancel the license by July 6, 2018, that the matter would be placed on the July 18, 2018 Council consent agenda to impose the recommended penalty; now, therefore, be it
