Accepting travel and lodging costs for City staff Jamie Radel to attend a convening in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as part of the Invest Health program.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul particpated in the Invest Health program sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Reinvestment Fund in 2017 to advance health objectives in the Dayton's Bluff area of the City;
WHEREAS, the City partnered with the teams from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Grand Rapids, Michigan, to host and attend cross-team learning related to health, food access, and economic development, and Invest Health is funding "micro-convenenings" in each location;
WHEREAS, city staff, Jamie Radel, will attend the convening in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on June 4 to 5, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Invest Health, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson and Reinvestment fund, will pay the cost of travel and lodging expenses estimated at $900;
WHEREAS, the Eau Claire, Wisconsin, is the fudicary agent for the project and will reimburse the City for these expense; now
THEREFORE, be it resolved, that the City Council authorizes the Department of Planning and Economic Development to accept this funding for travel and boarding; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City Council determines this to have public purpose and the Council extends its thanks and appreciation to both the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Reinvestment Fund for its sponsorship of the Invest Health program and the educational opportunities it has provided for City staff.
