Authorizing the Fire Department to accept the donation of 1,000 smoke detectors and 1,000 carbon monoxide detectors valued at $39,960.00 from Kidde Fire Safety.

WHEREAS, Kidde Fire Safety, a manufacturer of fire safety products, has a public service campaign "Operation Save a Life" designed to educate consumers on the dangers of fire and carbon monoxide poisoning; and
WHEREAS, Kidde has offered to donate 1,000 smoke detectors and 1,000 carbon monoxide detectors valued at 39,960.00 to the Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department would like to accept the donation of smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors from Kidde; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of this donation will be to support the Project Safe Haven program; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts this donation of smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors from Kidde, and thanks them for the generous gift.
