Purpose of Appeal:  Appealing condemnation and requesting stay.  No problems with this individual unit in building.  Requesting waiver of filing fee since SMRLS is representing.

Legislative Hearing Staff Comments:  Comment in STAMP on 12/15/2016:  "Brought SPPD with me today for inspection with Lorna.  All units were vacant besides the upstairs unit.  Unit 1 had hole in wall connecting it to Unit 2.  Occupant in upstairs was being evicted due to no rent payment.  Condemned all unoccupied units for multiple code/life safety violations.  Posted placards on front/back door.  JAB"

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Kristin Holmes, Attorney with Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services (SMRLS), on behalf of Stacy Given, to a condemnation placard on the building at 970 REANEY AVENUE, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council  [recommendation]; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
