Approving a waiver of the 45-day waiting period in order to issue a Liquor Outdoor Service Area (Sidewalk) license with conditions to Monkey Boys, Inc., d/b/a Dixie’s Bar & Smokehouse Grill/Saji Ya (License ID #20020001517) at 695 Grand Avenue.

WHEREAS, Monkey Boys, Inc. d/b/a Dixie’s Bar & Smokehouse Grill/Saji Ya (License ID #20020001517) applied for a Liquor Outdoor Service Area (Sidewalk) license for the premises located at 695 Grand Avenue in Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, the licensee currently holds a Liquor On Sale - 291 or more Seats; a Liquor On Sale - Sunday; a Liquor-Outdoor Service Area (Patio) and an Entertainment A license; and
WHEREAS, the licensee submitted a “Good Faith” letter indicating an effort to obtain the required number of petition signatures; and
WHEREAS, the licensee was able to obtain sixty-six (66) out of a possible one-hundred sixteen (116) petition signatures for fifty-seven percent (57%) support of the issuance of a Liquor-Outdoor Service Area (Sidewalk) license; and
WHEREAS, DSI received a letter from Summit Hill Association indicating no objection to waiving the 45-day waiting period in order to issue a Liquor Outdoor Service Area (Sidewalk) license; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Safety and Inspections received no other objections to the issuance of the license; and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that the application is in order and there are no grounds for denial of the license; now, therefore, be it,
RESOLVED, a Liquor Outdoor Service Area (Sidewalk) license is hereby granted with the following additional conditions to Monkey Boys, Inc. d/b/a Dixie’s Bar & Smokehouse Grill/Saji Ya (License ID #20020001517) for the premises located at 695 Grand Avenue in Saint Paul:
2. Sidewalk seating approved for a maximum of eight (8) seats.
3. Each year prior to the placement of table(s) and/or chair(s) in the public right-of-way (i.e. sidewalk) the licensee agrees to obtain a new Obstruction Permit from the Department of Public W...
