Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Safety and Inspections in the amount of $4,000 for a contribution received from the Minnesota Department of Human Services (MDH) to pay for educational tobacco compliance checks of city-licensed tobacco retailers.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Human Services (MDH) has awarded a contribution of $4,000 for the Department of Safety and Inspections to reimburse costs associated with educational tobacco compliance checks, and

 

WHEREAS, the public purpose of this contribution will be used to pay for conducting educational tobacco compliance checks, and

 

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the contribution received, and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $4,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2016 budget, and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the additions as specified in the Attachment "MDH Financial Analysis $4,000" be made to the 2016 budget;

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council, on behalf of the residents of Saint Paul, accept this contribution of $4,000 from the Minnesota Department of Human Services, extend their sincere appreciation to this organization, and approve the changes to the 2016 budget.
