Comments:  CAT 2 VB FILE OPENED ON 12/18/14: This is a 1 1/2 story wood frame single family house that is vacant and secure,lockbox on front door.Referred by Leanna Shaff of Fire with revoked C of O.House has missing screens,some peeling paint on trim and siding,holes in the eaves on East side,some foundation cracks,etc. as well as a number of items from revocation list. Detached one car garage is secure,has some rot at bottom of doors.Also a 10 x 10 dog kennel.Sidewalk is not shoveled. Per Fire inspector's recommendation,will open category II VB file

WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services Real Estate Section has attached to this Council File both a report of completion outlining the costs and fees associated with Collection of Vacant Building Registration fees billed during May 18 to November 24, 2015. (File No. VB1607, Assessment No. 168806 File No. VB1607A, Assessment No. 168816) and the assessment roll including all properties for which these assessments are proposed for Council ratification; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council’s Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed an appeal of this assessment and developed a recommendation for the City Council with respect to this assessment; and

 

WHEREAS, a public hearing having been conducted for the above improvement, and said assessment having been further considered by the Council and having been considered financially satisfactory; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that pursuant to Chapter 14 of the Saint Paul City Charter, said assessment is hereby ratified and payable in one installment laid over to June 15 Public Hearing.  If the work is completed, the vacant building fee may be prorated (allow permits to be pulled).
