Authorizing the Police Department to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement with the State of Minnesota, Commissioner of Public Safety, which includes an indemnification clause.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department wishes to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement with the State of Minnesota, acting through its Commissioner of Public Safety, Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management division which includes an indemnification clause; and
WHEREAS, this agreement will allow for the reimbursement of expenses incurred by the department’s bomb disposal unit for assistance provided as requested by the State as specified; and
WHEREAS, the term of the agreement is from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016 and total amount not to exceed $27,000; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the council approves entering into and authorizes Chief Thomas Smith to implement the attached Joint Powers Agreement, which includes an indemnification clause.
