WHEREAS, in the matter of Appeal of John Mann to a Fire Inspection Correction Notice at 1251 SIXTH STREET EAST, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council grant until June 15, 2014 to address exiting violations for second floor north central bedroom by: 1) opening up 50% of the wall between the room and the enclosed porch; 2) removing all the windows/screens in the enclosed porch; or 3) stop using the room as a bedroom. In the meantime, the current tenants will be allowed to continue the use of the room as a sleeping room until the end of their lease, or June 1, 2014, whichever is sooner, provided that the lock leading to the enclosed porch is removed; Now, Therefore, Be It
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
