Purpose of Appeal
This order came about due to a crack in the street 100 yds. on the other side of the street from me. There is an odor from the contents coming out from a cracked pipe underground. We have been told this is due to our sewer issues, which are a root issue; however, this crack & many others in this area have been caused by heavy construction equipment going up & down this street continuously all day. WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Damon Haywood to a Notice of Condemnation as Unfit for Human Habitation and Order to Vacate at 163 ACKER STREET EAST, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council grant the appeal on the condemnation and order to vacate on condition that Public Works do an emergency abatement relating to the sewer issue; Now, Therefore, Be It
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
