Requesting the release of $1,023,976 in contingency resources to the Police Department General Fund 2013 budget.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department's Crime Lab is undergoing a process to become certified; and
WHEREAS, the final plans were being evaluated at the time the 2013 budget was adoptedand as a result city council budgeted resources to pursue certification in contingency until decisions were finalized; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul Police Department, while progressing toward certification, needs to enter into contracts, purchase equipment and incur other expenses; and
WHEREAS the City of Saint Paul Police Department is requesting authorization to release the contingency funds currently within the General Government Accounts tothe Police Department General Fund to finance these expenses; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the city council approves the release of $1,023,976 in contingency resources to the Police Department General Fund 2013 budget.
