Title
Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $108,118.15 for the contribution received from the Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training and Education to pay for training for firefighters.
Body
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training and Education (MBFTE) has awarded a residual contribution of $108,118.15 to the Saint Paul Fire Department to reimburse costs associated with firefighter training; and
WHEREAS, firefighter training is a governmental purpose; and
WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the contribution received; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.7.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $108,118.15 in excess of those estimated in the 2026 budget; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the addition as specified in the attachment "MBFTE Financial Analysis $108,118.15" be made to the 2026 budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, the Saint Paul City Council accepts the contribution of $108,118.15 and thanks the Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training and Education for their generous contribution and approves the changes to the 2026 budget.
