Appeal of Brian Sullivan, Xcel Energy, to a Denial of Request for Fence Variance at 63 ARLINGTON AVENUE EAST.

 

Date/Time of 1st LH:  Tuesday, October 8, 2024, 3:00 p.m., Room 330 City Hall; rescheduled to October 15 due to staff unavailability

Purpose of Appeal:  Xcel is requesting to construct a 10' tall chain link fence to secure a natural gas regulator station.  Xcel Energy has adopted new security standards for our facilities to address increased threats to essential service facilities around the nation.

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Brian Sullivan, Xcel Energy, to a Denial of Request for Fence Variance at 63 ARLINGTON AVENUE EAST, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council grant a 2-foot variance up to 10 feet in height, and the fence otherwise be in conformance with the 1999 NSP Easement on City of Saint Paul park land; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
