Preliminary Order setting the date of City Council public hearing for April 19, 2017 to consider approval of improvements on Battle Creek Road from Upper Afton Road to Park Ridge Court. (File No. 19201, Assessment No. 175207)

In the matter of constructing new bituminous surface street with concrete curb and gutter, concrete driveway aprons, and boulevards landscaped with sod and trees. Mainline sidewalk will be reconstructed where appropriate. In addition, appropriate sanitary sewer repairs will be made, and storm sewer and sanitary sewer connections will be made at the request of property owners. Existing water main and services will be replaced where necessary.
The roadway will be 32’ wide with a 5’ concrete sidewalk on one side.
New lantern style street lighting system will be installed. The lights mounted on wood poles will be removed.
Public art will be included in the project, following the procedures developed for the project. Funding for public art is 1% of eligible project funds, as determined by the Office of Financial Services per the City’s Public Art Ordinance.
The Council of the City of Saint Paul, having received the report of the Mayor upon the above improvement and having considered said report, hereby resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved with no alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $2,350,000, financed by Municipal State Aid, assessments, and St. Paul Regional Water Services funding.
2. That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 19th day of April, 2017, at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall and Court House Building in the City of Saint Paul.
3. That notice of said public hearing be given to the persons and in the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of hearing, the nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated.
