WHEREAS, the City Council adopted RLH SAO 26-59 on August 5, 2026 which granted an extension to August 7, 2026 to abate the nuisance conditions at 2016 Fremont Avenue; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer reviewed this case on August 11, 2026 to determine if the owner and/or responsible party abated the nuisance conditions and found these conditions is abated related to brush pile, the nuisance was not abated as relates to the stones/pavers and compost bin. As of August 14, 2026, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends denying the appeal, noting the compost bin is now in compliance  The property owner is to submit updated diagram by noon Thursday August 13, 2026 for staff to review (recommendation forthcoming for compost) and granting further extension to November 2, 2026 for compliance with pavers/stones; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council adopts the finding of the legislative hearing officer that the nuisance condition is not abated and matter is resolved on the compost bin therefore authorizes the Department of Safety and Inspections to proceed with this nuisance abatement related to the compost if no diagram is submitted by August 13, 2026.
