Title
Appeal of Cory Johnson, Renova Homes, to a Vacant Building Registration Notice at 1670 SEVENTH STREET EAST.
Date/Time of 1st LH: Tuesday, August 18, 2020, Teleconference hearing between 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Purpose of Appeal: Renova bought the property on 7/31 with outstanding violations. We intended to resolve them by the 8/5 deadline, but the tenants changed the locks, and I wasn't able to gain access in time. The tall grass notice (and other notices) were mailed to the previous owner, and I didn't get them until 8/10. I filed a change of ownership last week, so I believe your records should be current now. I was finally able to make contact with the tenants on 8/12, and they won't hinder the repairs going forward. I also notified them today that the other issues may be rectified immediately.
Date of Order(s) Under Appeal: August 7, 2020
Inspector/Key Staff: Matt Dornfeld
Legislative Hearing Staff Comments: Appellant included a Notice to Cut Tall Grass and Weeds, but it was not timely. The Summary Abatement Order dated 8/6/20 was already abated according to STAMP. VB Registration Appeal was heard by previous owner, Lolita Francisco.
