Title
Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $75,600 to accept the grants from the Saint Paul Foundation and the Otto Bremer Foundation for the Saint Paul EMS Academy.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Foundation has offered a grant to the Saint Paul Fire Department of $10,000.00 in support of the Saint Paul EMS Academy, and
WHEREAS, the Otto Bremer Foundation has offered a grant to the Saint Paul Fire Department of $65,600.00 in support of the Saint Paul EMS Academy, and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department would like to accept the two grants from the Saint Paul Foundation and the Otto Bremer Foundation, and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of the Saint Paul EMS Academy is to give participants that live in Ramsey County the opportunity to prepare for careers in fire and/or EMS service, and
WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the grants received, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriations funds of $75,600.00 in excess of those estimated in the 2012 budget and recommends the following addition be made to the 2012 budget:

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council adopts the changes to the 2012 budget, and on behalf of the citizens of Saint Paul, accept these two grants totaling $75,600.00 from the Saint Paul Foundation and the Otto Bremer Foundation and extend their sincere appreciation to these organizations.
