Purpose of Appeal: I was taken by a contractor for $130,000.00. I run a business out of the building, and throwing me out would force me to put 22 workers out of business. All 22 limos are parked inside and are dispatched from upstairs. (paraphrased)

Legislative Hearing Staff Comments: It's not clear to me if someone is living in the residential area of this mixed use building, which is condemned. I need to talk with staff Thurs. 3/7 as to specific conditions. The orders do not provide a specific vacate date and there's no photo of a placard. We need to address this, too, at that time. -MM

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Shahid Aziz to a Notice of Condemnation as Unfit for Human Habitation and Order to Vacate at 495 KENNY ROAD, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council deny the appeal as it relates to continuing use for residential purposes until compliance with orders pertaining to the unit is met, and grant to July 1, 2019 for compliance with the balance of the orders; Now, Therefore, Be It
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
