Approving the Mayor’s appointment of Councilmember Rebecca Noecker to the Saint Paul Port Authority Board of Commissioners for a temporary term beginning on May 1, 2024.

WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statute 469.050 (Subdivision 1) states that the Saint Paul Port Authority Board of Commissioners (“Board”) consists of seven (7) commissioners, two of whom must be members of the Saint Paul City Council, appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Council; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Nelsie Yang currently serves as a commissioner on the Board and has notified the Board that she will be on leave beginning April 15, 2024 and intends to return in early August; and
WHEREAS Councilmember Rebecca Noecker expressed an interest in serving as a commissioner on the Board while Councilmember Yang is on leave and is currently a Saint Paul City Council member representing the Second Ward; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Carter wishes to appoint Councilmember Rebecca Noecker to the Board during the time that Councilmember Yang is on leave, said term to begin on May 1, 2024; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council consents to the appointment of Councilmember Rebecca Noecker as a commissioner on the Saint Paul Port Authority Board for a term beginning May 1, 2024.
