Approving precinct boundary changes for Ward 2 for the upcoming 2024 elections.

WHEREAS, the City Council approved new precinct boundaries after the Charter Commission approved new ward boundaries in 2022; and
WHEREAS, a precinct boundaries in Ward 2 need to be revised to better accommodate the voters in that precinct; and
WHEREAS, Ramsey County Elections Office staff has made recommendations for change; now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Ramsey County Elections is directed to transfer territory from Ward-2 Precinct-8 to Ward-2 Precinct-7; transferring the northeastern part of Ward-2 Precinct-8 bounded by 5th Street West, Wabasha Steet N, Kellogg Boulevard West and 7th St. East to Ward-2 Precinct-7. Voters who live in this territory will now vote at the Landmark Center, 75 5th St. West.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that these precinct and polling place designations will become effective for the upcoming 2024 elections. A postal notification will be sent to all registered voters affected by the changes.
