Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to submit a proposal to the Nature Everywhere Vision Lab sponsored by the National League of Cities, Children & Nature Network, and Kaboom. (If awarded, the Nature Everywhere Vision Lab would provide the department with technical expertise, travel expenses, a peer network, and seed funding up to $40,000 to intentionally accelerate local nature connection strategies throughout Saint Paul.)

WHEREAS, the National League of Cities, Children & Nature Network, and Kaboom, invited Saint Paul Parks and Recreation to apply for this proposal; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has been identified as eligible to participate in the vision lab; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to submit a proposal to receive support in developing a local strategic network to support outdoor connections; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has a successful history of partnering with the National League of Cities, Children & Nature Network, and Kaboom; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there is a public purpose in building a network of partnerships to support residents connecting to nature; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for the Nature Everywhere Vision Lab.
