Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept donated funds of $3,500 from the Saint Paul Children’s Collaborative and, if accepted, enter into an agreement.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting permission to accept $3,500 in donated funds from Saint Paul Children’s Collaborative to support the Summer Choice Fair event on April 28th at Oxford Community Center; and
WHEREAS, donated funds, if accepted, will provide broader marketing materials into Saint Paul Public Schools and purchasing of tote bags for participants to receive upon entry to the event; and
WHEREAS, donated funds, if accepted, will require an agreement with the Saint Paul Children’s Collaborative detailing requirements for receiving said funds; and
WHEREAS, there is no required match of these funds by the City; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that the expenditure of these funds to provide a free event for all who live in Saint Paul serves a public purpose; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes the Parks and Recreation Department to accept said donation of funds from Saint Paul Children’s Collaborative; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Department of Parks and Recreation is authorized to execute the necessary agreement with the Saint Paul Children’s Collaborative to accept and utilize these funds.
