Date/Time of 1st LH:  Teleconference on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Purpose of Appeal:  We called service out immediately & have set installment for new furnace.  We have heater for now.  The unit is vacant.

Inspector/Key Staff:  James Hoffman

Legislative Hearing Staff Comments:  Category 2 VB since 2/12/24 condemned by Fire inspection 2/8/24 for gas service being locked off by Xcel Energy and lack of approved heating system. Furnace red-tagged, unsafe venting.

 

Body

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Carolyn Brown, on behalf of Shai Leibovich, to a Vacant Building Registration Notice at 1056 Hatch Avenue, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council waive vacant building fee to April 1, 2024, make property a Category 1 Vacant Building, and release from Vacant Building program if Fire Certificate of Occupancy is reinstated by April 1, 2024; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
