Accepting the gift of travel expenses from Local Progress, State Innovation Exchange, and Re:power for Councilmember Mitra Jalali to attend the Progressive Governance Academy, Train the Trainer (T4T) program in Atlanta, GA from July 20-23, 2023.

WHEREAS, Local Progress is the national network of progressive elected officials from cities, counties, towns, school districts, villages, and other local governments across the country committed to reclaiming cities and counties' power and advancing shared vision of shared economic prosperity, equal justice under the law, livable and sustainable communities, and good government that serves the public interest; and
WHEREAS, State Innovation Exchange is a national resource and strategy center that supports state legislators in advancing and defending progressive policies across the country with a long-term vision of building progressive power and infrastructure at the state level, and creating a network of more than 3,000 elected officials representing all 50 states; and
WHEREAS, Re:power is the nation’s largest training and capacity-building organization, partnering with individuals, organizations, and coalitions nationwide to uncover leaders within communities to create radical change, and by imagining a future of inclusive politics where our communities make decisions about our communities at all levels; and
WHEREAS, the Progressive Governance Academy T4T program is a leadership and collaborative governance program for state and local legislators, using adult learning and participatory techniques to train leadership styles, collaborative governance, power-mapping and focuses on organizing principles to help elected officials build and wield power to make change in their communities;
WHEREAS, Councilmember Mitra Jalali has been selected as a representative from the City of Saint Paul to attend the Progressive Governance Academy (T4T) program in Atlanta, GA from July 20-23, 2023; and
