Authorizing the City to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement, on behalf of the Police Department, with the State of Minnesota, on behalf of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) to participate as a member of the MN Financial Crimes Task Force.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department (SPPD) wishes to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement with the State of Minnesota, acting through its Commissioner of Public Safety on behalf of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA); and
WHEREAS, the SPPD wishes to work together to investigate and prosecute identity theft and related financial crimes, and
WHEREAS, upon execution, this agreement will become effective and expire March 30, 2027, now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that council authorizes the City of Saint Paul to enter into and Assistant Chief Jack Serier to implement the Joint Powers Agreement with the State of Minnesota, on behalf of the BCA.
