Ord 26-18 3/25/2026 3:50 AMAmy Manning For I'm a parent of a SPPS student and I have been volunteering and fundraising to bring mutual aid in the form of food aid and rent ***istance to SPPS families. Fundraising efforts alone cannot meet the needs of our community at this time, this ordinance would go a long way towards keeping our community members housed by giving them more time to access the help that they need. Please p*** this ordinance.
Ord 26-18 3/21/2026 3:25 AMJack-Lorraine Polum For Multiple families in my neighborhood are at risk of losing their housing due to fear of leaving their homes and being unable to make rent. No one should have to fear being turned out just because they're trying to keep themselves safe.
Ord 26-18 3/21/2026 2:10 AMPhillip Aitken For This extension MUST p***. In my neighborhood, North End, we've started a community fund for rent ***istance and other necessities, but we keep getting requests for help. Renter debt is skyrocketing because many of our immigrant neighbors were afraid to even go to work. There could be an extensive houselessness crisis if evictions start removing families who were already under severe stress and terror during the cruel and ongoing occupation of our State. They remain afraid. The City cannot allow them to have even more stress and worry at this time. To not extend the notice period would be complicity in evicting these frightened, terrorized families.
Ord 26-18 3/11/2026 4:59 AMIan Rosenthal (Jewish Community Action) For I am writing to lend Jewish Community Action’s voice to the chorus of advocates asking St Paul to extend the pre-eviction notice period to 60 days. Those sheltering in place are terrified that even if they avoid violence at the hands of ICE, they may still be faced with the brutality of eviction. Over the last 13 weeks of this crisis, I’ve had the honor to witness and contribute to countless efforts to keep people housed. We are doing everything we can to stem the tide of displacement. But we are already seeing the limits of our local resources and we desperately need more time to fundraise. In the best of times, 30 days is hardly enough for folks to navigate and receive emergency rental ***istance. Between limited language access, alienating application processes, and the simple fact that there isn’t enough money to begin with, renters face huge obstacles to receiving aid. For this reason, we are calling on city council to unanimously p*** the pre-eviction extension.
Ord 24-26 2/24/2026 11:05 PMJames Wilkinson For I think it makes sense to further limit drive-throughs for environmental, health and long-term development reasons. So I think City should increase the minimum distance that new drive-throughs must be located from existing and planned Light Rail, Bus Rapid Transit, and Arterial Bus Rapid Transit stops from 300 feet to one-eighth of a mile. +1
