Accepting the gift of travel and expenses, not to exceed $803.00, from the National League of Cities for Mayor's Office staff member Jane Eastwood to travel to the Post-Secondary Advisors Network (PSCAN) conference of the National League of Cities, October 5-6, 2011 in Indianapolis, IN.

WHEREAS, the Post-Secondary Advisors Network (PSCAN) of the National League of Cities has convened a meeting and invited Mayor's office staff member, Jane Eastwood, to participate; and
WHEREAS, the PSCAN networks will meet on October 5 and 6, 2011 in Indianapolis, IN; and
WHEREAS, the National League of Cities has offered to pay for the flight, transportation, hotel and meal accommodations to enable Jane Eastwood to participate in the meeting; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that attendance at the meeting will fulfill a public purpose by giving the Mayor's
staff the opportunity to meet with representatives of cities throughout the country and discuss strategies for encouraging innovation in education policy;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City accepts the gift of airfare/ground transportation/baggage at a cost not to exceed $500, one dinner reimbursement not to exceed $30, one lunch and breakfast not to exceed $15 each as well as hotel accommodations for one night not to exceed $163 (meals and hotel paid directly by NLC) and cab fares/airport parking/tips not to exceed $80 for Jane Eastwood; and
BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED, that the City thanks the National League of Cities for this opportunity.
