Title
Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $35,000.00 to accept a contribution from the United Way for the Saint Paul EMS Academy.
Body
WHEREAS, the United Way has offered a contribution to the Saint Paul Fire Department of $35,000.00 in support of the Saint Paul EMS Academy, and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department would like to accept this contribution from the United Way, and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of the Saint Paul EMS Academy is to give participants that live in Ramsey County the opportunity to prepare for careers in fire and/or EMS service, and
WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the contribution received, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriations funds of $35,000.00 in excess of those estimated in the 2011 budget and recommends the following addition be made to the 2011 budget:

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council adopts the changes to the 2011 budget, and on behalf of the citizens of Saint Pual, accept this contribution of $35,000.00 from the United Way and extend their sincere appreciation to this organization.
