Title

Authorizing the acceptance of a $700.00 scholarship grant from the Minnesota State Historical Society for staff attendance at the 31st Annual Statewide Preservation Conference, September 22 - 23, 2011.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Department of Planning and Economic Development (PED) will incur costs for two members of the City's Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC) and two city staff to attend the 31^st Annual Statewide Historic Preservation Conference in downtown Faribault, Minnesota on September 22 through September 23, 2011; and

WHEREAS, the Minnesota Historical Society is willing to provide a scholarship to the City for the costs of attendance by the HPC Commissioners and city staff, anticipated not to exceed $700.00; with the remainder to be provided through PED's FY2011 Administrative Fund 126 Budget.

NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council authorizes PED to apply for, accept and enter into a grant agreement with the Minnesota Historical Society; and be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the Council of the City of Saint Paul wish to recognize the Minnesota State Historical Society for its ongoing preservation work, and thank the Society for their generous assistance.
