Authorizing the Mayor to submit an application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for a 2011 Community Challenge Planning Grant.

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development published, on July 26, 2011, a Notice of Funding Availability for the Fiscal Year 2011 Community Challenge Planning Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is eligible to apply for up to $3 million for work that fosters reform and reduces barriers to achieving affordable, economically vital, and sustainable communities; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that Mayor Christopher B. Coleman, as Chief Executive Officer of the City of Saint Paul, is hereby authorized and directed to submit the Community Challenge Planning Grant application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in such form as prescribed by the regulations of said Department; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor or his designated representatives are further authorized to submit to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development any assurances, certifications, technical changes or additional information that may be required by said Department during their review of the Community Challenge Planning Grant application; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that upon notification of approval of the Community Challenge Planning Grant by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Council does hereby authorize the proper City officials to execute the grant agreements and contracts between the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the City of Saint Paul.
