Vacant Building Monitoring (Recheck) 06/21/2011: *Recheck - Night checked with Rich Singerhouse. Junk yard is not secure and may be impossible to completely secure without demolition. PO's were not on site but it does appear business is still ongoing at this condemned property. I will advise with Inspector Neis and Marcia Moermond as how to proceed. ~MD
Vacant Building Monitoring (Recheck) 08/09/2011: *Recheck - Night checked with R Singerhouse, issuing s/a to vacate and secure site. This is a scrap yard that appears is still doing business even though its been condemend and both LHO and Council have denied appeals. I will advise with Mr Magner to formulate a plan. ~MD

Boarding/Securing (Summary Abatement) 08/25/2011: *Recheck - This junkyard is fully operational and open to entry. PO refuses to comply with my written and verbal orders to vacate. City Council and LHO Marcia Moermond have also ordered this dwelling vacant. I issued a s/a on 8-10-2011 to vacate immediately and secure site. Ive also emailed Mr Magner asking for advice as to how to proceed. We will meet in the immediate future to devise a plan of action. SPPD will need to be involved. ~MD

WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services Real Estate Section has attached to this Council File both a report of completion outlining the costs and fees associated with Collection of Vacant Building fees from June 2011 (File No. VB1112, Assessment No. 118097) and the assessment roll including all properties for which these assessments are proposed for Council ratification; and
 
WHEREAS, the City Council's Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed an appeal of this assessment and developed a recommendation for the City Council with respect to this assessment; and
 
WHEREAS, a public hearing having been conducted for the above improvement, and said assessment having been further considered by the Council and having been considered financially satisfactory; Now, Therefore, Be It
 
RESOLVED, that pursuant to Chapter 14 of the Saint Paul City Charter, said assessment is hereby ratified and payable in one installment.
