Approving adverse action against the Taxicab Driver (Provisional) license application submitted by Lester Owens for the City of Saint Paul.

Body

WHEREAS, adverse action was taken against the Taxicab Driver (Provisional) license application submitted by Lester Owens (License ID #20110002777) for the City of Saint Paul by Notice of Intent to Deny License dated August 12, 2011, alleging license applicant was convicted on May 19, 2011, of Felony Drugs-1^st Degree Possess 25 Grams or More-Cocaine/Meth in Ramsey County District Court in violation of Minn. Stat. § 152.021.2(1); and  

WHEREAS, per Saint Paul Legislative Code § 376.16 (e) (4) (a), the licensing office recommended license denial; and

WHEREAS, the licensee did respond to the Notice of Intent to Deny License to inquire about his options, but then failed to follow-up to request a hearing or send in a request to withdraw the license application; and     

WHEREAS, the Notice of Intent to Deny License stated that if the licensee failed to request a hearing or withdraw his license application by August 22, 2011, that the matter would be placed on the consent agenda to impose the recommended penalty; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Taxicab Driver (Provisional) license application submitted by Lester Owens is hereby denied.
