Approving the signing of the Consultant Services Agreement between the City of Saint Paul and Frank Madden, Attorney (Madden, Galanter & Hansen, LLP) to assist City officials and managers in Labor Relations and to provide expert advice concerning labor negotiations and interactions with the Bureau of Mediation Services.
Body
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Department is in need of the services of a labor relations consultant pursuant to ยง23.03 (1) of the Saint Paul Administrative Code to assist in training managers in Labor Relations and to provide expert advice concerning labor negotiations and interactions with the Bureau of Mediation Services; and
WHEREAS, Frank Madden is a recognized expert in the area and has agreed in the past to provide these services pursuant to the terms of the attached agreement that was adopted by the City Council on September 14, 2005, Council File No. 05-837; and
WHEREAS, the City proposes to extend this original contract under the same terms for a total expenditure not to exceed $8,000; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby approves the extension of the contract with Frank Madden as Labor Relations Consultant and authorizes the appropriate City Officials to sign this extension contract on behalf of the City.
