Authorizing the Department of Planning and Economic Development to accept funds from Leadership Louisville for Lucy Thompson, Principal City Planner, to attend a Best Practices Session on July 21, 2011 in Louisville, Kentucky.

WHEREAS, Lucy Thompson, Principal City Planner in the Department of Planning and Economic Development, has been invited by Leadership Louisville to speak to its Bingham Fellows on best practices for infrastructure planning and investment related to Central Corridor LRT, and city-wide transportation planning; and
WHEREAS, the session will be held July 21, 2011 in Louisville, KY; and
WHEREAS, Leadership Louisville will pay for all costs associated with attendance and participation in the meeting by Ms. Thompson, with an estimated value not to exceed $1,000.00; and
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that upon recommendation of the Mayor, the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby approve the acceptance of the payment of all costs associated with the participation of Lucy Thompson in the Leadership Louisville session on Best Practices in Infrastructure on July 21, 2011; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized to take the appropriate actions necessary to facilitate Ms. Thompson's participation in the session.
