Authorizing the Fire Department to enter into a lease agreement with Hennepin Technical College to use the department's training facilities to host a Firefighters' Challenge Career Camp.

WHEREAS, Hennepin Technical College would like to use the Saint Paul Fire Department training facilities to host a Firefighters' Challenge Career Camp on June 20-23, 2011, and
WHEREAS, the value of the leased property for the event is $3,600.00 which is being leased to Hennepin Technical College for no cost and the public purpose of this event is to ensure recruiting efforts to all communities that will only add to the already talented, skillful, diversified, and professional workforce of the Saint Paul Fire Department, and
WHEREAS, this event is a dynamic way to get youth interested in pursuing a firefighting career path, and
RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to execute a lease agreement which includes an indemnification clause with Hennepin Technical College to use the Saint Paul Fire Department training facilites, as provided by the Saint Paul Fire Department; a copy of said lease agreement is to be kept on file and of record in the Office of Financial Services.
