Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $533,250.00 to accept the 2010 Assistance to Firefighter Grant to purchase equipment and provide training.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department has applied for and received a grant of $533,250.00 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program to purchase fire hose and nozzles, forcible entry tools and equipment, radio equipment and provide hi-rise firefighting training, forcible entry training, live fire attack training, and incident command training, and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is required by federal law to pay a 20% matching fund contribution of $106,650.00 which $40,000.00 will be paid from P5/001-05101-0254-50612 (1000-1005101-52370), $26,350.00 will be paid from P5/001-05120-0851-50609 (1000-1005120-56540) and in 2012 $40,000.00 will be paid from P5/001-05101-0254-50612 (1000-1005101-52370), and
WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the grant received, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the following addition be made to the 2011 budget: See attached financial analysis.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this grant and approves the changes to the 2011 budget.
