Authorizing the Saint Paul Police Department to accept the donation from the Saint Paul Police Foundation in the amount of $2,766.20. The funds will be used for the gang unit to attend the annual Midwest Gang Investigators Association Conference in Dubuque, Iowa, and for the mounted unit to repair the 91 square foot horse trailer flooring.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation was formed in 2005 to help the Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) in many ways including insuring that public safety for our citizens remains the number one priority for our city; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation board of directors has approved the granting/donation of $2,766.20 to the SPPD, and;
WHEREAS, the SPPD would like to accept the donation; and
WHEREAS, the SPPD will use $1,128.20 for the gang unit to attend the annual Midwest Gang Investigators Association Conference in Dubuque, Iowa, and
WHEREAS, the SPPD gang unit has several new members who will benefit from this training, and
WHEREAS, the SPPD will use $1,638.00 for the mounted unit to repair the 91 square foot horse trailer flooring to facilitate footing for equines in transit, and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extend its sincere thanks to the Saint Paul Police Foundation.
